"This too shall pass" (Persian: این نیز بگذرد) is a Persian adage, originated from Persian Sufi poets, and found in numerous other cultures. It reflects the ephemeral nature of everything. In the West, it is known due to a retelling of Persian fable by Edward FitzGerald, and Abraham Lincoln's speech before he became the sixteenth President of the United States.
